Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. yeast
  • 5/8 cup warm water
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine, melted and cooled
  • 2 cups flour

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water.
  2. Add salt and sugar to the yeast mixture.
  3. Mix in melted and cooled margarine.
  4. Gradually blend in flour until a dough forms.
  5. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic.
  6. Divide the dough into small pieces and roll each into ropes.
  7. Brush the pretzels with beaten egg and sprinkle with salt.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 425°F for 12 to 15 minutes until browned.
