Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. yellow cake mix
  • 2 pkg. chocolate instant pudding and pie filling
  • 1 c. confectioners sugar
  • 4 c. cold milk

Instructions

  1. Prepare and bake the cake mix as directed on the package for a 13 x 9-inch cake.
  2. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool slightly.
  3. Poke holes down through the cake to the pan with the round handle of a wooden spoon, spacing holes about 1 inch apart.
  4. Combine the pudding mix with the confectioners sugar in a large bowl.
  5. Gradually stir in the cold milk until the mixture is smooth.
  6. Beat with an electric mixer at low speed for no more than 1 minute.
  7. Quickly pour half of the pudding mixture over the warm cake, allowing it to fill the holes.
  8. Let the remaining pudding sit for 1 minute, then spoon and swirl it over the cake's surface.
  9. Chill in the refrigerator before serving.
