Ingredients

  • 1/4 lb butter
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 eggs

Instructions

  1. Bring water to a boil.
  2. Add butter, stirring until all butter is melted.
  3. Add all at once flour and salt, and cook, stirring vigorously.
  4. Cook until mixture is smooth and forms a soft ball that does not separate.
  5. Cool slightly.
  6. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition until mixture is smooth.
  7. Drop spoonfuls on a greased cookie sheet.
  8. Bake at 300°F for 25 minutes until golden and puffed.
