- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Grease and flour a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
- Remove 1 cup of the cake mix and set aside for topping.
- In a small bowl, lightly beat 1 egg.
- In a large bowl, stir together the remaining cake mix, melted butter, and the beaten egg.
- Press this mixture into the prepared pan to form the crust.
- In a large bowl, lightly beat the remaining 3 eggs.
- Stir in pumpkin, 1/2 cup of sugar, brown sugar, evaporated milk, and cinnamon.
- Pour this pumpkin mixture over the cake crust in the pan.
- In a small bowl, combine the reserved 1 cup cake mix, remaining 1/2 cup sugar, chopped walnuts, and softened butter; mix until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the crumbly mixture evenly over the pumpkin layer.
- Bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until set.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving warm or cool.
