Ingredients

  • 1 loaf Italian bread
  • 1 lb butter or margarine
  • garlic powder
  • shredded Parmesan cheese
  • shredded Mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat broiler.
  2. Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil.
  3. Melt butter in the microwave.
  4. Slice the Italian bread into 3/4-inch slices.
  5. Dip each bread slice in melted butter and sprinkle garlic powder on both sides.
  6. Arrange the slices on the prepared cookie sheet and spread shredded Parmesan or Mozzarella cheese on top of each slice.
  7. Sprinkle lightly with oregano.
  8. Place in the broiler until the cheese melts.
  9. Serve immediately.
