Ingredients

  • 3 qt water
  • 1 qt vinegar
  • 1 c canning salt
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 dried cayenne pepper or 0.2 tsp ground cayenne
  • 2 pods whole fresh dill or 1 tsp dried dill

Instructions

  1. Wash cucumbers, 2 to 4 inches long, and place them in clean jars.
  2. Add 1 clove garlic, cayenne pepper or ground cayenne, and dill to each jar.
  3. Bring water, vinegar, and salt mixture to a boil.
  4. Pour the hot mixture over the cucumbers in the jars.
  5. Seal the jars and process in a boiling water bath for 20 minutes.
