Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 package yeast
  • 5 tablespoons shortening
  • 5 cups flour

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water and let stand for 5 minutes.
  2. Add remaining water, salt, and sugar; beat well.
  3. Add shortening and beat until combined.
  4. Add eggs and beat well.
  5. Add flour and mix until the dough becomes elastic.
  6. Put the dough in the refrigerator and let it double in size.
  7. Take out the dough and knead the desired amount.
  8. Return the remaining dough to the refrigerator.
  9. Let the dough rise until it has doubled in size.
  10. Bake at 450°F (230°C) until the rolls are brown.
