Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh fruit
  • 1 3/4 cups sugar
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Combine fresh fruit and 3/4 cup of sugar and let stand for 20 minutes.
  2. Melt the margarine and pour it into a baking dish.
  3. Sift together the flour and remaining sugar.
  4. Add the milk to the flour mixture and stir briskly until combined, lumps will remain.
  5. Pour the batter over the melted margarine in the baking dish.
  6. Top the batter with the sugared fruit.
  7. Bake in a 350°F oven for 45 minutes.
