A quick, hearty casserole combining seasoned ground beef, cheesy layers, and crispy chips, perfect for satisfying weeknight dinners or casual gatherings with bold flavors.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1 pkg taco seasoning
  • 16 oz sour cream
  • 8 oz shredded Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef with chopped onion, salt, pepper, and taco seasoning.
  2. Crush two-thirds of the tortilla chips and layer them on the bottom of a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  3. Add the cooked beef mixture on top of the chips and sprinkle with half of the shredded cheese.
  4. Spread sour cream evenly over the cheese layer.
  5. Add the remaining cheese on top of the sour cream.
  6. Layer the remaining tortilla chips over the cheese.
  7. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 30 minutes until hot and bubbly.
  8. Garnish with lettuce and tomatoes if desired, and serve with extra sour cream and taco sauce.
