Ingredients

  • 1 pint blueberries
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup self-rising flour
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Bring to a rolling boil the blueberries, water, lemon juice, and 1/2 cup sugar.
  2. Mix self-rising flour, cooking oil, cinnamon, remaining 1/2 cup sugar, and 3 tablespoons water until well combined.
  3. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the boiling blueberry mixture.
  4. Cover and cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes or until dumplings are cooked through.
  5. Serve warm, optionally with whipped topping or vanilla ice cream.
