Ingredients

  • 1 pkg yeast
  • 4 Tbsp sugar
  • 2 c sweet milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 Tbsp shortening
  • 6 c flour

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast and sugar in lukewarm sweet milk.
  2. Add shortening and salt to the mixture.
  3. Add flour, mix, and let rise for 1 hour.
  4. Add enough flour to make a firm dough.
  5. Let the dough rise again for 30 to 45 minutes.
  6. Divide the dough into rolls.
  7. Cover the rolls and let rise until they reach the top of the container.
  8. Bake in the oven at 350°F for 20 minutes.
