Ingredients

  • 3 cups self-rising flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup Crisco
  • 1 cup warm water

Instructions

  1. Add yeast to warm water and stir well.
  2. Mix self-rising flour, sugar, and Crisco together.
  3. Combine the wet and dry ingredients thoroughly.
  4. Let the dough rise until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough on a floured surface and knead until firm.
  6. Pinch off small balls of dough and shape into rolls.
  7. Let the rolls rise until doubled in size.
  8. Bake at 325°F (160°C) for 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown.
