Real Chess Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. cornmeal
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 9-inch pie shell, unbaked

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°.
  2. Mix butter, sugar and milk in saucepan. Bring to a full boil then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
  3. Cool.
  4. Add vinegar, cornmeal and eggs.
  5. Stir until smooth.
  6. Pour into pie shell and bake for 40 minutes.
