Ingredients

  • 2 cups warm water
  • 1 tablespoon yeast
  • 6 cups flour
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1/2 to 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1/2 pound cheese (Cheddar or Mozzarella)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons poppy seed

Instructions

  1. Mix warm water, yeast, flour, sugar, oil, and salt together and knead into a dough.
  2. Let rise at room temperature for 1 1/2 hours or until doubled in size.
  3. After rising, roll out the dough to 8 x 15 inches on a floured surface.
  4. Spread cheese evenly over the rolled-out dough.
  5. Distribute chopped onion over the cheese layer.
  6. Sprinkle poppy seed over all the toppings.
  7. Roll the dough into a log from the long side, forming a jelly roll shape.
  8. Shape the rolled dough into a ring and place on a pizza pan.
  9. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
