Ingredients

  • 1 lb stew meat
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 pod garlic
  • 5 or 6 potatoes
  • 2 cans tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup cooking oil
  • 3 Tbsp chili powder

Instructions

  1. Put cooking oil in a skillet and heat until hot.
  2. Salt and pepper the stew meat, then sear it until browned.
  3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and sear for a few minutes.
  4. Add the tomato sauce and chili powder to the skillet.
  5. Add water to the skillet until it is about 1 inch from the top, then put a lid on and cook for about 2 hours on medium heat.
  6. After 2 hours, add the potatoes cut into small pieces.
  7. Put the lid back on and cook for an additional 30 minutes or until the potatoes are done.
