Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 1/2 cups plus 2 tablespoons cinnamon red hot candies
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 (46 oz.) cans pineapple juice, chilled
  • 2 quarts ginger ale, chilled
  • 1 quart vanilla ice cream

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine warm water, red hot candies, and sugar.
  2. Cook over low heat, stirring frequently until the candies have melted, approximately 20 to 30 minutes.
  3. Strain the mixture and allow it to cool.
  4. In a large pitcher, combine the cooled red hot syrup with chilled pineapple juice.
  5. Just before serving, add ginger ale and vanilla ice cream to the mixture.
  6. Serve immediately for a frothy, spicy punch.
