Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. white vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. celery seed
  • 1 Tbsp. mustard seed
  • 2 Tbsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Boil sugar, white vinegar, celery seed, and mustard seed, then let the mixture cool.
  2. Wash and slice the pickles.
  3. Add salt to the sliced pickles.
  4. Let the salted pickles set for 1 hour and then drain.
  5. Optional: Add onion and green pepper if desired.
  6. Pour the cooled vinegar mixture over the pickles and transfer to containers.
  7. Refrigerate and let sit for a week before eating.
