Ingredients

  • 7 to 8 cups flour
  • 2 packages dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Combine 3 cups of flour, dry yeast, sugar, and salt in a large bowl.
  2. Heat the milk and 2 cups of water in a saucepan until very warm.
  3. Gradually add the warm milk mixture to the dry ingredients, mixing well.
  4. Beat at medium speed for 2 minutes, scraping the bowl occasionally.
  5. Add 1 cup of flour and beat at high speed for 2 minutes.
  6. Stir in the shredded Cheddar cheese.
  7. Gradually add enough remaining flour to make a soft dough.
  8. Shape the dough into a loaf and place in a greased baking pan.
  9. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for about 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Remove from oven, brush with melted butter, and serve warm.
