- Roll thin chocolate wafers with a rolling pin to make crumbs.
- Cream the butter, then add the crumbs and sugar, blending thoroughly.
- Cover the bottom of a dish with the crumb mixture, pressing down firmly.
- Spread vanilla ice cream evenly over the crumb crust, packing it down well.
- Press remaining crumbs firmly on top of the ice cream layer.
- Garnish with whipped cream.
- Return to refrigerator to freeze until firm before serving.
