Rice Mingle

- Wash wild rice in 3 or 4 changes of cold water.
- In medium saucepan, add 1 teaspoon salt to boiling water; add wild rice gradually so water keeps boiling.
- Boil, covered, 30 to 45 minutes or until rice is tender.
- Meanwhile, saute onions in 1/4 cup butter for about 5 minutes over medium heat. Stir in consomme, 1 soup can water, white rice and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
- Cover skillet tightly.
- Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Mix with wild rice.
- Fluff and serve.
