Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 pounds chicken legs
  • 1 onion, sliced thin
  • 1 tablespoon curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1 cup raw rice

Instructions

  1. In a heavy skillet, heat and stir sugar until it browns and melts, being careful not to let it burn.
  2. Add chicken legs, turning to coat with the melted sugar.
  3. Brown the chicken slightly.
  4. Add rice, sliced onion, curry powder, seasoned salt, and stir a little.
  5. Add water to cover the ingredients.
  6. Simmer, uncovered, until rice is cooked, adding water as needed.
  7. Let the mixture boil dry at the end.
