Instructions

  1. Cook rice in milk until tender.
  2. Pare and slice enough tart apples to make a pint.
  3. Butter a pudding dish and put in a layer of rice.
  4. Add a layer of sliced apples over the rice.
  5. Cover with the remaining rice.
  6. Cover and bake for 20 minutes.
  7. Uncover the dish and dot with bits of butter.
  8. Brown the top of the pudding.
  9. Serve with cream and sugar.
