Ingredients

  • 6 1/2 cups sifted flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 tablespoons soft butter or margarine
  • 2 cups very warm water
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 packages active dry yeast

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sifted flour, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add the soft butter or margarine to the dry ingredients and mix well.
  3. In a separate bowl, warm the water until very warm, then dissolve the active dry yeast in it.
  4. Beat the eggs and add them to the yeast mixture.
  5. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until a smooth batter forms.
  6. Cover the bowl with a napkin and place aluminum foil underneath in your roll basket to keep the rolls hot longer.
  7. Let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 to 1.5 hours.
  8. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  9. Grease your baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  10. Pour or spoon the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  12. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.
