Delightful bite-sized cookies with a nutty crunch and jam filling, perfect for teatime or special occasions, offering a sweet, buttery flavor with a hint of vanilla and pecans.

Instructions
- Sift flour and salt onto waxed paper or foil.
- Cream butter with powdered sugar until well blended in a medium-sized bowl.
- Stir in sifted dry ingredients, blending well to make a soft dough.
- Stir in chopped pecans and vanilla extract.
- Chill several hours, preferably overnight, until firm enough to handle.
- Roll dough into marble-sized balls, a teaspoon at a time, between palms of hands.
- Place on an ungreased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart.
- Make a hollow in the center of each cookie with your thumb.
- Fill the hollow with about 1/2 teaspoon of raspberry jam or your preferred flavor.
- Bake at 300°F (150°C) for 20 minutes or until delicately golden.
