Ingredients

  • 1 envelope yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups warm milk
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm milk with 1 tablespoon sugar.
  2. Add 1 1/4 cups flour and beat thoroughly.
  3. Let the dough rise for 40 to 50 minutes.
  4. Add 3/4 cup sugar, butter, salt, and about 4 cups of flour to the dough.
  5. Let the dough rise a second time for 40 to 50 minutes.
  6. Roll out the dough, cut into shapes, and let rise again.
  7. Fry the doughnuts in hot grease until golden brown.
