Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar

  • 6 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 6 eggs, separated
  • 2/3 cup flour
  • 4 tablespoons melted butter
  • 3 cups milk

  3. Add flour and melted butter, then mix well.
  4. Gradually add milk, one cup at a time, mixing continuously.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until peaked.
  6. Fold the beaten egg whites into the lemon mixture gently.
  7. Pour the mixture into a well-greased 9 x 11-inch baking dish.
  8. Set the baking dish into a pan of cold water approximately 1/2-inch deep.
  9. Bake at 350°F for 45 to 55 minutes until set.
  10. Cool before serving, then refrigerate.
