- Beat eggs until light with a fork.
- Gradually add sugar and beat well.
- Add milk and vanilla to the egg mixture.
- Butter heavily 3 slices of bread and make sandwiches with the remaining 3 slices.
- Slice the sandwiches into quarters and line a casserole dish with them.
- Pour the egg-milk mixture over the buttered bread.
- Add raisins and coconut on top.
- Place the casserole in a pan of water and bake at 350°F for about 1 hour and 10 minutes.
