Ingredients

  • 6 eggs
  • 1 capful vanilla
  • 6 slices buttered bread
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 5 cups milk

Instructions

  1. Beat eggs until light with a fork.
  2. Gradually add sugar and beat well.
  3. Add milk and vanilla to the egg mixture.
  4. Butter heavily 3 slices of bread and make sandwiches with the remaining 3 slices.
  5. Slice the sandwiches into quarters and line a casserole dish with them.
  6. Pour the egg-milk mixture over the buttered bread.
  7. Add raisins and coconut on top.
  8. Place the casserole in a pan of water and bake at 350°F for about 1 hour and 10 minutes.
