Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 squares unsweetened chocolate or 3 tablespoons cocoa and 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup shortening

Instructions

  1. Beat the eggs and sugar in a bowl.
  2. Melt the shortening and unsweetened chocolate in a pan.
  3. In another large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and vanilla.
  4. Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Grease and flour a small square pan.
  6. Mix all ingredients together and beat for 2 minutes.
  7. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
  8. Allow the brownies to cool.
  9. Put on icing if desired.
