Roast Venison

Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 lb venison roast
  • 2 tsp salt
  • pepper
  • flour
  • 2 Tbsp oil
  • water

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle 2 teaspoons salt with a dash of pepper over the venison roast.
  2. Dredge the seasoned venison in flour to coat lightly.
  3. Place the roast in an iron pan with 2 tablespoons of oil.
  4. Sear the meat on all sides until browned.
  5. Add a small amount of water to the pan.
  6. Cover the pan and turn the heat to low.
  7. Add a little water when the pan seems dry during cooking.
  8. Cook very slowly until the venison is tender.
  9. Remove the roast from the pan and use the drippings to make gravy.
