Ingredients

  • 3 lb. chuck roast
  • flour
  • salt
  • 1 pkg. dry onion soup mix
  • 1 can mushroom soup

Instructions

  1. Flour the chuck roast and brown it in a small amount of cooking oil.
  2. Season the meat with a little salt.
  3. Mix the dry onion soup mix with the mushroom soup and 2 cans of water.
  4. Pour the mixture over the browned meat in a covered cooking vessel.
  5. Cook, covered, for 3 to 4 hours at 325°F (may extend to 5 hours for extra tenderness).
  6. Check the water level after 3 hours and add more water if needed.
