Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup Crisco
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 2 eggs, beaten

Instructions

  1. Soak 2 packages of yeast in 1/2 cup warm water.
  2. Combine sugar, Crisco, and salt; pour 1 cup boiling water over the mixture.
  3. Add 1 cup flour and 1 cup cold water; let cool.
  4. When mixture is cool, add beaten eggs.
  5. Add the yeast mixture to the cooled mixture.
  6. Gradually add 7 cups of flour to the mixture.
  7. Place the dough, covered, in the refrigerator.
  8. Roll out the dough and shape into rolls about 1 to 1 1/2 hours before baking, allowing them to rise until double in size.
  9. Bake in a 400° to 425°F oven until golden brown.
