Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. butter
  • 1 lb. sugar
  • 1 lb. flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 12 egg whites

Instructions

  1. Beat to a cream the butter, sugar, flour, and milk.
  2. Add the beaten egg whites to the mixture.
  3. Color half of the batter pink.
  4. Layer the batter in two greased and floured 9-inch pans or one 9 x 13-inch pan.
  5. Alternate pink and white layers until all the batter is used.
  6. Cut down through the layers when in the pan to allow colors to mix.
  7. Bake at 350°F until done, about 45 minutes.
