Rose Rolls

- In a large bowl, mix 1 cup of flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
- Combine milk, water, and margarine in a saucepan.
- Heat over low heat until liquids are very warm (120° to 130°F).
- Add the warm liquids to the dry ingredients. Beat for 2 minutes on medium speed.
- Add eggs and 1/2 cup of flour; beat on high speed for 2 minutes.
- Add more flour gradually to make a stiff batter.
- Cover the bowl tightly with aluminum foil and chill for 2 hours or overnight.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured board.
- Divide the dough into 18 equal pieces and roll each into a 15-inch rope.
- Wind each rope to form a coil.
- Place on a greased baking sheet 2 inches apart.
- Cover and let rise in the oven until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Make a 1-inch hole in the center of each coil.
- Fill the hole with cherry pie filling.
- Bake at 400°F for 12 to 15 minutes.
- Cool on a wire rack and frost when cooled.
