Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb butter
  • 1 envelope dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1/2 pint sour cream
  • 3 cups flour
  • cinnamon and sugar mixture
  • raisins

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan.
  2. Dissolve the dry yeast in warm water.
  3. Add the yeast mixture to the melted butter.
  4. Mix in the egg yolks, sour cream, and flour to form a dough.
  5. Refrigerate the dough overnight.
  6. Divide the dough into 8 parts and roll each in the cinnamon and sugar mixture.
  7. Cut each rolled piece into 8 triangular sections, like a pie.
  8. Place some chopped nuts and raisins at the wide end of each triangle.
  9. Roll each into a crescent shape, starting from the wide end.
  10. Place the shaped ruglach on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  11. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown.
