Rumacky combines sweet water chestnuts or pineapple with savory bacon, coated in brown sugar and ketchup, creating a flavorful appetizer perfect for parties and gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 small can water chestnuts or 1 small can pineapple chunks
  • 1/4 to 1/2 lb bacon
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup catsup

Instructions

  1. Cut water chestnuts in thirds.
  2. Wrap each water chestnut or pineapple chunk with a bacon strip and secure with a toothpick.
  3. Bake at 350°F for about 20 minutes or until the bacon is done.
  4. Drain off excess grease and place the wrapped rolls in a small casserole dish.
  5. Sprinkle enough brown sugar to cover all and pour ketchup over the top.
  6. Bake at 350°F until the mixture bubbles, about 5 to 10 minutes.
