- Melt butter and unsweetened chocolate over hot water. Remove from heat and stir in sugar.
- Cool slightly.
- Add eggs, one at a time, blending well after each addition.
- Add flour and vanilla; mix well.
- Spread evenly in a greased and floured waxed paper-lined 15 x 10-inch jelly roll pan.
- Bake at 325°F (163°C) for 15 to 20 minutes or until squares spring back when lightly pressed.
- Cool in pan 10 minutes.
- Remove from pan and finish cooling on a rack.
- Do not overbake.
