Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 3 squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3/4 cup apricot jam
  • 2 squares semi-sweet chocolate

Instructions

  1. Melt butter and unsweetened chocolate over hot water. Remove from heat and stir in sugar.
  2. Cool slightly.
  3. Add eggs, one at a time, blending well after each addition.
  4. Add flour and vanilla; mix well.
  5. Spread evenly in a greased and floured waxed paper-lined 15 x 10-inch jelly roll pan.
  6. Bake at 325°F (163°C) for 15 to 20 minutes or until squares spring back when lightly pressed.
  7. Cool in pan 10 minutes.
  8. Remove from pan and finish cooling on a rack.
  9. Do not overbake.
