Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup red cinnamon candies
  • red food coloring
  • 3 red tart apples
  • 1 pound pork sausage links

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, heat 1 cup water, the cinnamon candies, and a few drops of red food coloring until candies are melted.
  2. Place apple rings in the syrup; cook slowly, turning occasionally, about 20 minutes or until tender.
  3. In another skillet, place the pork sausage links; add 3 tablespoons water.
  4. Cover tightly and cook slowly for 8 minutes.
  5. Uncover and cook, turning sausages until well browned.
  6. To serve, insert a hot sausage link into the center of each apple slice.
