Sausage Rounds are savory appetizers featuring seasoned sausage and turkey mixed with melty cheese, baked on rye bread, perfect for parties and gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. sage sausage
  • 1 lb. hot sausage
  • 1 lb. ground turkey
  • 1 large block Velveeta cheese
  • 2 pkg. party rye bread
  • shredded Mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Brown the sage sausage, hot sausage, and ground turkey in a large pot and drain well.
  2. Cut the Velveeta cheese into chunks and add to the cooked meat mixture.
  3. Heat over low heat and melt the cheese completely.
  4. Place the party rye bread slices on cookie sheets.
  5. Spoon the meat and cheese mixture onto each bread slice.
  6. Bake at 350°F for about 10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the bread is crispy.
  7. The mixture can be prepared ahead of time and microwaved to reheat before spooning onto the bread.
