- Combine melted butter or margarine, soy sauce, and garlic powder to make the sauce mixture.
- Heat oil in a medium skillet over medium heat.

- Turn the salmon steaks, baste again with the sauce, and place lemon slices on top of the steaks.
- Continue cooking until the salmon flakes easily when tested with a fork.
