Ingredients

  • 1 pheasant, cut in serving pieces
  • flour
  • salt
  • pepper
  • poultry seasoning
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1 medium onion, sliced or chopped

Instructions

  1. Roll the pheasant in flour seasoned with salt, pepper, and poultry seasoning.
  2. Brown the coated pheasant pieces in shortening.
  3. Place the browned pheasant in a casserole dish.
  4. Combine the cream of chicken soup, sour cream, and water, then pour over the pheasant.
  5. Cover the casserole and bake at 350°F for 1 1/2 hours.
  6. Serve the savory pheasant over wild rice.
