Sweet and comforting, scalloped peaches and apples layered with brown sugar and breadcrumbs create a warm dessert that pairs beautifully with vanilla ice cream or yogurt.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sliced peaches
  • 4 cups sliced apples
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. Arrange a layer of sliced peaches on the bottom of a greased baking dish.
  2. Place half of the sliced apples over the peaches.
  3. Sprinkle with salt.
  4. Add the remaining peaches and apples, then sprinkle again with salt.
  5. Spread brown sugar over the top, then sprinkle with bread crumbs.
  6. Add water last.
  7. Cover the baking dish for the first 30 minutes to prevent crumbs from browning too quickly.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes.
