Ingredients

  • 4 c. canned tomatoes
  • 4 slices dry bread
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/4 stick butter

Instructions

  1. Toast the bread and butter it.
  2. Dice the bread into 1/2-inch pieces and combine with the tomatoes.
  3. Add sugar and spices to the mixture.
  4. Pour into a greased casserole dish and top with the remaining butter.
  5. Bake at 350° until lightly browned, about 30 to 40 minutes.
