Ingredients

  • 2 handfuls flour
  • 4 cups rolled oats or oat flour
  • 6 tablespoons shortening
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Put oatmeal, flour, and salt in a bowl and mix.
  2. Make a well in the center and pour in the hot melted shortening and cold water.
  3. Mix well and then roll into small balls with floured hands to prevent sticking.
  4. Roll out each ball and cut into fourths.
  5. Bake in a moderate 375°F (190°C) oven for about 20 minutes.
