Ingredients

  • 1 lb. fresh scrod
  • 1 (28 oz.) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup sliced black olives
  • 1 Tbsp. capers
  • 1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper
  • 1/4 cup canola or vegetable oil
  • 4 to 5 cloves garlic
  • 8 oz. angel hair pasta

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet or saucepan, add canola or vegetable oil and garlic; simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Add crushed tomatoes, sliced black olives, capers, and crushed red pepper; simmer for 25 to 30 minutes.
  3. Wash scrod in cold water and towel dry.
  4. Add scrod to the tomato mixture and cook until fish is opaque and flakes easily, about 8-10 minutes.
  5. Cook angel hair pasta according to package instructions, drain, and serve alongside the scrod putanesca.
