Ingredients

  • 2 cups fruit (fresh peaches preferred)
  • 1 stick butter or margarine
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 3/4 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

Instructions

  1. Mix the fruit with 1 cup of sugar and set aside.
  2. Put the stick of butter in a 13 x 8-inch baking dish and let it melt in the oven or microwave.
  3. Prepare the batter by mixing the flour, remaining sugar, and baking powder together.
  4. Pour the melted butter into the baking dish.
  5. Spread the prepared batter evenly over the melted butter.
  6. Spoon the sugared fruit on top of the batter without stirring.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour until golden and bubbling.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy!
