S.E.G.R.A.'S Sad Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. cake flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 (1 lb.) box light brown sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Sift flour.
  2. Measure and resift with baking powder and salt. Add eggs to brown sugar, one at a time, beating in well.
  3. Add flour mixture gradually; mix thoroughly.
  4. Add vanilla and nuts. Pour into a greased and floured 9 x 12-inch pan.
  5. Bake at 300° for 35 to 45 minutes.
  6. Let cool.
  7. Cake will fall as it cools.
  8. Cut in squares.
  9. Top with whipped cream.
