Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown rice
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • pinch of salt
  • 3 tablespoons sesame butter (tahini preferred)
  • 2 tablespoons tamari sauce

Instructions

  1. Place 1 1/2 cups water in a saucepan, bring to a boil, add a pinch of salt and the brown rice.
  2. Bring to a boil again, then cover and reduce heat to cook rice for approximately 50 minutes.
  3. When rice is done, combine tahini, tamari sauce, and water in a small saucepan.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil and cook for five minutes.
  5. Add water as needed to achieve a creamy consistency.
  6. Combine the cooked rice with the sesame sauce and serve while hot.
