Sherried Fresh Tomatoes

Ingredients

  • 1 tomato
  • 1 Tbsp. sherry
  • 1/8 tsp. dill weed
  • 1/8 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp. finely grated Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Core the tomato and slice it in half.
  2. Place the tomato halves cut side up on a cookie sheet.
  3. Pierce each tomato half several times with a fork.
  4. Sprinkle each half with sherry, dill weed, and black pepper.
  5. Broil for 2 to 3 minutes.
  6. Mix mayonnaise and grated Cheddar cheese together.
  7. Top each tomato half with the mayonnaise and cheese mixture.
  8. Broil for an additional 2 to 3 minutes or until bubbly and slightly browned.
  9. Serve immediately.
