Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. round steak
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup catsup
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 3/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Cut round steak into strips about 2 x 1/2-inches.
  2. Heat a heavy frying pan to very hot.
  3. Add meat and stir to begin browning.
  4. Add chopped onion and cook until beef is browned.
  5. Add minced garlic.
  6. Reduce heat to medium.
  7. Add water, catsup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, and dry mustard.
  8. Simmer until meat is tender, about 30 minutes.
  9. Mix cornstarch with 1/4 cup water, then add to the meat mixture.
  10. Stir until the sauce has thickened.
  11. Remove from heat and pour over cooked noodles.
