Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs. fresh raw shrimp in shell
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 Tbsp salt

Instructions

  1. Peel the shrimp by making a lengthwise slit down the back of each to expose and wash out the sand vein.
  2. Heat 4 cups of water to a boil, then add the peeled shrimp and 2 tablespoons of salt.
  3. Cover and bring the water back to a boil.
  4. Reduce the heat to simmer and cook the shrimp for 5 minutes.
  5. Drain the shrimp and serve.
